New Superintendent Survey

White Oak ISD Staff, Parents, and Community Members,

As you are aware, WOISD Trustees have employed Texas Association of School Boards Executive Search Services to facilitate the search for the next Superintendent of WOISD.  One component of the search process is to solicit input from staff, parents, and community members as to the Qualifications and Characteristics desired in the next Superintendent.  Your input is requested and can be submitted via the web-based survey accessed on the WOISD homepage or by clicking HERE.  The survey not only asks for professional and personal Qualifications and Characteristics desired in the next Superintendent but also inquires as to what are the strengths of WOISD (what’s good) and what concerns or challenges face WOISD (what needs attention).  The survey will be open through Sunday, October 20.

  • Is the survey anonymous?
    • Yes, all responses go directly to TASB offices in Austin.  No one at WOISD has access to any responder’s identifiable information.
  • What happens to survey responses?
    • All responses will be delivered to WOISD Trustees in a report format.  Trustees will see all responses. The new Superintendent will also be given a copy of the report with all responses.  This is very useful information to the new Superintendent as it will provide valuable information on where he/she needs to focus their time and energy.

Let me encourage you to take the time to complete the survey.  It really is useful information for TASB ESS and your WOISD Trustees to utilize during the search process.

4th Grade Wildflower Garden

The 4th-grade students enjoyed planting wildflowers today. Our Nature Center is the host Monarch Waystation. Students were able to see on a national map where WOISD is listed on this map. Students were excited to plant wildflowers and will anticipate the Monarch butterfly’s visit in the spring before moving on to their next destination.

White Oak vs Winnsboro Away

The White Oak Roughnecks will play the Winnsboro Red Raiders this Friday night, October 4th, at Winnsboro. The game will begin at 7:30.

Parents, please remember that students must bring a Pep Rally form and give to the teacher so that they can be seated in the cafeteria when the double doors open at 2:30 pm.

NO student will be allowed to leave without an Adult.

Big Kahuna Fundraiser Kicks Off

This year the Big Kahuna Fundraiser will feature much more than just cookie dough! Our booklet will feature kitchen specialties, cookbooks, gourmet mixes, totes, holiday wrap, desserts of all kinds, and, of course, the best cookie dough in Texas. Students will bring home packets and those who wish to participate will have the opportunity to win some spectacular prizes.  Students will be selling items beginning October 4th through October 18th with Delivery Date being on November 14th.

Parents will need to make sure that orders match the total of money returned. Otherwise, orders may not be placed.

Students will need to sell quickly because the fundraiser will only last approximately two weeks. That’s just enough time to win that Limo Ride or a Trip to the Gym Inflatables!
