Masks

White Oak ISD Updated Covid-19 Mitigation/Protocols: May 10, 2021

On May 10, 2021 the White Oak Board of Trustees voted unanimously to make the wearing of masks optional for students and staff on the campuses of White Oak ISD. This Covid-19 Mitigation/Protocol change will go into effect immediately for all afterschool activities and on the morning of Wednesday, May 12 for students and staff during the school day.

White Oak ISD will remain vigilant in regard to Covid-19 and continue to sanitize, social distance when feasible, and utilize other strategies as we close out the school year.

White Oak ISD will also allow visitors for ‘specific events’ on campus and ask that those in attendance follow any specific guidance requested by administration at the campus level.

It is our goal to close out the school year in a fashion that allows some ‘normalcy’ for our students, staff and parents. We appreciate your continued support of White Oak ISD!

Morning Procedures

Please note that our drop-off time is 7:15 for both Primary and Intermediate students in front of the main entrance. We hope this early drop-off time and having buses unload at a different location will improve the flow of traffic and safety measures.

Teachers will be in their classrooms at 7:30 to receive students who choose not to eat breakfast at school or for students who are finished eating breakfast at that time.

Please note that students arriving after the 8:00 bell are considered tardy. A parent must accompany the student in the building to receive a tardy slip.

The cafeteria will serve breakfast for our Intermediate students from 7:20 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

ADDITIONAL SCHOOL SUPPLY DROP-OFF DAY – AFTER WORKING HOURS

In an effort to accommodate working parents, we will have an additional day/time for you to drop off school supplies, pay the $10 supply fee, fill out the transportation form, and receive car tags for your 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student.

We will set up on Thursday, August 6th, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in front of the elementary gym.

Coming by to fill out the transportation form will give teachers time to prepare their dismissal plans for each student and feel confident they know how your student is getting home.

We want to safely and efficiently dismiss our students and picking up the car tags in advance will allow for a smoother dismissal process.

Come see us tomorrow evening if you haven’t come by already!

Teacher Placement Emails

For parents of returning students who completed registration and your information was verified before this past Thursday, teachers began emailing placement notifications to parents on Friday, July 31.

If you just recently completed online registration or we are waiting on verification, your email will arrive between August 3-7.

We appreciate your patience in this matter.

Meet the Teacher – Intermediate Campus

WHITE OAK INTERMEDIATE CAMPUS MEET THE TEACHER

We value the importance of the school-home connection, and have always looked forward to our traditional Meet the Teacher night. Due to current circumstances, this event will look different this year.

All Intermediate homeroom teachers will create a Meet the Teacher video that will be linked to our main blog site on Friday, August 7th. You can click on the links to learn more about your child’s teachers in a virtual manner.

In addition, we want to extend an invitation to our newest members of the Intermediate campus, our upcoming 3rd graders and their families, to a modified Meet the Teacher event. We realize moving from the Primary campus to the Intermediate campus can seem overwhelming. We want to give our 3rd graders the opportunity to walk up the stairs and know where their rooms are before the first day of school.

Parents of 3rd graders who have completed online registration by July 30th will receive an email from their child’s homeroom teacher beginning Monday, August 3rd.

Meetings will be held on Thursday, August 6th at scheduled times so we can accommodate for social distancing. We are asking 3rd grade parents and students to wear a face covering to the meeting.
